Speaking at a community event in Couva, PM Modi highlighted deep cultural ties between India and Trinidad and Tobago, calling Kamla Persad-Bissessar “the daughter of Bihar.”

This is PM Modi’s first visit to the country as Prime Minister and the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Caribbean nation since 1999.
