The Trinamool Congress on Sunday show caused party MLA Madan Mitra stating that his comments over the alleged gangrape of a law student in her college were uncalled for and insensitive.

Manojit Mishra, accused of gang-rape, was known at his Kolkata law college for alleged abuse of power and instilling fear, particularly among women. He reportedly recorded private moments, morphed pictures, and shared them in WhatsApp groups for ridicule.

The government resolutions on three-language policy drew strong criticism from the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, which includes Shiv Sena (UBT), MNS, and NCP (SP).
